Radial Jdx

Designed to capture the dynamics and warmth of an electric guitar amplifier, the Radial Engineering JDX 48 Reactor connects between an amp head and speaker cabinet to deliver a sound that is similar to a well-placed microphone while eliminating inconsistencies. The design of this direct box starts with its discrete class-A circuitry and a transformer-coupled "reactive load" that captures both the sound from the amp head along with the back electromagnetic impulse from the loudspeaker, which helps to produce a more realistic rendering than a typical resistive pad. The signal is then processed via a carefully designed multi-stage filter to emulate the tone of a 4x12 half stack cabinet. The JDX 48 Reactor delivers consistent sound night after night, and will help reduce your setup time since there's no microphone to worry about finding the perfect spot for. This direct box even works great with bass players as well, as it will provide plenty of low-end punch and low mid-range tone reminiscent of an Ampeg SVT connected to an 8x10 cabinet.SpecificationsAudio circuit type: Discrete Class-A - Transformer IsolatedFrequency response: Shaped for guitar useDynamic range: 114 dBNoise Floor: -100 dBu below 0 dBuThermal input limit: +49 VAC (from amplifier)Total harmonic distortion:< 0.015% (+10 dBu input @1 kHz)Intermodulation distortion: 0.03% (+10 dBu input @1 kHz)Input Connector: 1 x 1/4"Input impedance: 15 kΩMaximum Input: 120W @ 8 ΩOutput Connector: 1 x XLR, 1 x 1/4"Output impedance: 2 kΩ (XLR out)Maximum Output: +14 dBu (clip level)Bass extension: Lowers frequency response for bass guitar300 Watt amp: Increases power handling from 100W to 300W180° polarity reverse: Inverts signal polarity at the XLR outputGround lift: Shunts ground via a resistive networkFilter: Active speaker emulation band-pass filterPower: 48V phantom or +15VDC/400mA adapter IncludedConstruction: 14-gauge steel chassis and outer shellConditions: For use in dry locations only, 5-40°CSize: 2" x 5" x 6.25" (51 mm x 127 mm x 159 mm)Weight: 2.80 lbs (1.28 kg) Radial Engineering JDX-48 Guitar Amp DI with Speaker Emulation and Reactive Load.
