Product Description

20 YEARS IN THE MAKING: THE RETURN IF BERNIE LEADON After two decades away from the studio, Bernie Leadon returns with Too Late To Be Cool, his first solo album in 20 years: a project that balances the wisdom of a seasoned songwriter with the spark of a restless innovator. Known worldwide as a founding member of the Eagles, Leadon helped shape the sound of an era. Now, with Too Late To Be Cool, he proves that his creative fire burns as brightly as ever. Recorded all-analog with a band playing live in the same room, the album delivers warmth, immediacy, and authenticity rarely captured in today's digital landscape. From the reflective intimacy of "Too Many Memories " and "Zero Sum Game" to the rollicking drive of "Too Late To Be Cool" and the title track, the record is a tour through the many shades of Leadon's artistry. With standout production touches, tape delay, EMT plate reverb, and mastering by the legendary Ted Jensen, Too Late To Be Cool isn't just an album, it's a statement: timeless songs played the way records were meant to be made. This record (yes, it's a "record") was lots of fun to make! We recorded live in the same room, looking at one another, listening and playing together at the same time for the basic tracks. It was recorded all analog, using classic tube mics, vintage API console, very little outboard gear, onto 2 inch 16 track, tape delay to an EMT 140 plate, mixed to Ampex ATR102 1/2 inch tape at 15ips, ATC monitors. Mastered superbly by Ted Jensen directly o? the 1/2 inch masters. Nothing against digital - we just like working this way, and we think we can hear a di?erence. Enjoy! BL
